  • 1 pepper, your choice of heat seeded, minced
  • 1 lime juiced
  • 1 tsp olive oil

  • 1/2 tsp cumin
  • 1/2 tsp salt

  • Pour in the lime juice, olive oil, salt, and ground cumin (if using).
  • Mix all the ingredients together until well combined, making sure to maintain the desired consistency.
  • Taste and adjust the seasoning as needed, adding more salt, lime juice, or jalapeño to suit your preferences.
  • Serve immediately with tortilla chips or as a topping for your favorite Mexican dishes.

Notes

Recipe Tips

  • Choose ripe avocados that yield to gentle pressure for the best flavor and texture.
  • To prevent browning, place the avocado pits in the guacamole until ready to serve.
  • If you prefer a spicier guacamole, leave some of the jalapeño seeds in or add a pinch of cayenne pepper.
  • For a chunkier guacamole, dice one of the avocados instead of mashing it.
  • If the guacamole is too thick, add a tablespoon of water or more lime juice to reach the desired consistency.

Serving Suggestions

Serve guacamole as a versatile dip or spread that adds a creamy, fresh flavor to various dishes and snacks.

Serve with:

  • Tortilla chips
  • Tacos, burritos, or quesadillas
  • Grilled meats or fish
  • Veggie sticks (carrots, cucumbers, bell peppers)
  • Toast or crackers

Variations

  • Add diced mango or pineapple for a sweet and tangy twist
  • Mix in crumbled cotija or feta cheese for a salty kick
  • Include roasted garlic for a deeper, more mellow garlic flavor
  • Stir in cooked and cooled corn kernels for added texture and sweetness
  • Top with diced bacon or chorizo for a meaty, savory element

Storage

Guacamole is best enjoyed fresh, but if you have leftovers, store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 1-2 days. To prevent browning, press plastic wrap directly onto the surface of the guacamole before sealing the container. Give the guacamole a quick stir before serving.
